Colors of India!!!

No, its not VIBGYOR! Its BGYRW!!!

Some time back, my blogger friend of mine, Niranjan, nominated me to take part in this contest. This is by www.travelsupermarket.com and is called Capture the Color! Here's the task - Share 5 photos that capture the following 5 colors - Blue, Green, Yellow, Red, White! I chose to show of my country's colors for this contest and here's my post on it!
Beginning with Cool Blue! Many a times, whenever I am on a temple tour, I take a shot of the temple's silhouette against the sky! This shot was at Muruganatheeswarar Temple at Mambakkam, in Tamil Nadu, India. I was actually on my route to another temple when I saw this ancient temple enroute. I was so attracted by the rustic charm of this centuries old temple, that I had to stop biking, made some inquiries, found the priest and got into this temple... The rustic, grungy feel of the temple with Lord Vinayaka at the centre with a unique 'face with open mouth' at the left end of the pic, against the blue sky, was a perfect setting!
Next is Gorgeous Green! I clicked this at Pallikarai Marsh Land, in Tamil Nadu, India. I was there with a bunch of people for bird watching and with my cam I couldn't zoom in to get great pics of the birds. However while walking back to the parking lot, I spotted this Tiger Butterfly seated on the shades of greens, making a perfect contrast and with its wings almost the same size as leaves!
Next is Mellow Yellow! Not so mellow to be honest! This was mom's traditional Thanjavur recipe to cook Brinjal with salt, turmeric, masala, curry leaves, mustard, oil and ural dal! The turmeric and masala brings not just the flavour but also a gorgeous golden yellow!
Then come Tantalizing White! This was clicked at Mahabalipuram or Mahabs in short, in Tamil Nadu, India. The scene sculpted in 6th C AD, is of Lord Krishna lifting a hillock with his finger and using it as an umbrella to protect his villagers. Seen around Lord Krishna are villagers & cattle. And trying to mingle in the scene as one among the villagers, is my friend and against the grey granite making a stark contrast and perfect standout in White!
Finally Ravishing Red! I met this lady from the colorful state of Rajasthan and she was wearing her traditional jewellery and apparel that she embroidered herself. She was so awesome that I had to click her! Hope you liked the BGYRW of my blog!

Finally here's my list of nominations!
